Feathers!

I am so intrigued by feathers. So many shapes, colors, designs, and patterns, and each one is totally unique. Recently, I have been loving feathers incorporated into fashion. Feather eyelashes, hair extensions, and jewelry are some of my favorite items. Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus, and Hilary Duff are just a few of the celebrities known to wear feather hair extensions, which as I have read on numerous blogs, are expected to be the new big thing.

If you want a big impact, go with colors that contrast against your hair, have funky designs, or with feathers that are bigger and bolder.

Or, if you want a more natural look (which I prefer for myself,) go with feathers that are a shade or two lighter/darker than your hair color. I think this looks so pretty and earthy!

Hilary Duff wears them, too!

Feather makeup is also something I'm really into, although I've never had a place to wear it. But its still fun to look at!

Ok, I know they're not feathers but I had to put it up!

My favorite!!

And feather jewelry is getting super popular, too. They have tons of it at Etsy.com or Forever 21's accessory store.

Feathers are the next big thing, so buy them now and start a trend!

Double Dosage

I realize that I missed my monday blog last week.  I was out of town,  and I just could not figure out a way to get internet (thanks a lot McDonalds).  Anyways to make up for it I decided I would post doubly this monday.  I was in New York City on St. Patricks Day, and I haven't seen so many green people since the last time I watched Shrek.  I realize that St. Patricks day is over, but that doesn't mean that you can't throw in some green into your wardrobe this spring.  Tommy Hilfiger's 2011 spring collection is filled with bright greens that are great to compliment any spring outfit.

On another more serious note, the citizens of Japan are still recovering from the tsunami and earthquake that hit a little over a week ago.  The Salvation Army in Japan is doing their best to help, and they are running a limited edition t-shirt in which 100% of the money will go towards the relief.  Don't wait to preorder yours today.  Designer Joshua Smith did an amazing job on it.

Until next Monday

Spring Fever

With spring break on the way and the weather (kind of) starting to warm up, I'm getting spring fever. Bad. I'm sick of wearing bulky winter coats and wrapping scarves around my face so my nose doesn't freeze. I want to wear dresses and skirts again! With LIGHTWEIGHT jackets and sandals and the warm sun on my face. So, here are some of the things I'm most excited to wear this spring...that is, once spring arrives!

1. Flowy dresses! I'm LOVING floral prints this season.

Express
$79.90

Forever 21
$12.80...really!?

Urban Outfitters
(online only)
$89.00

Banana Republic
$126.99

2. Jackets!!!!! I especially love leather jackets with girly dresses, but I'm also loving the whole denim trend going on right now. White denim jackets add a down-to-earth vibe when paired with a cute dress, and after I saw Brittany wearing a denim vest on Glee (when the guys are singing Justin Beiber's "Somebody to Love,") I was hooked.

Express
$98.00

Forever 21
$19.80

Macy's
$42.99

Urban Outfitters
(I like it unbuttoned, personally)
$59.00

3. Sandals, clogs, boots...I really just love shoes in general!

Express
(online only)
$59.50

Piperlime
(Hive and Honey)
$99.50

DSW
$44.95

Forever 21
$18.80

4. Flowy tops- paired with cute jewelry, obviously.

Macy's
$69.50

Express
$49.90

Express
$27.93

Banana Republic
$39.50

Now I really want to go shopping...good thing spring break is next week! I'll have plenty of time for that.
MOA here I come!
Until next Tuesday,
Meghan :)

LFW A/W11 A Look at Alfred Dunhill

A couple weeks ago the London Fashion Week premiered many amazing upcoming designers.  Although I saw tons of promise and talent, one that stood out for me was the veteran Alfred Dunhill's Autumn/Winter collection.  The luxury based brand presents just that; luxury and sophistication that can be pitted against almost any other luxury brand in London.  With an array of masterfully tailored suits and jackets, the collection left me wanting more and more.  A job well done by creative director Kim Jones.

Hope you enjoyed this menswear monday!
